I love Psalm 18 so very, very much. It takes faith to do that. A life without God is a sad life indeed. Who do they turn to? What have they got to keep them going when the going gets tough. This is one of the reasons some people commit suicide. They have nothing to look forward to. They have no motivation whatsoever to keep on fighting what battle they have. I mention suicide here with reason because there was a time in my life when I was so horribly ill and it went on for so many years that I did think of suicide.
Had it not been for Jesus being a huge part of my life, who knows what I would have done. Our loved ones are not always enough to keep us here. But the mighty power of Jesus can keep us here and enables us to keep fighting.
What I had is gone. Thank the Lord for healing me. He took a long time to do it but He stood by me. He did it in His own time. His time is not our time. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks to give the reason for the hope that you have.
But do this with gentleness. No truer words have ever been more spoken! Hugs and blessings, Cindy. He knows my name. Thank you Jesus! WOW, what beautiful words you spoke to share the gospel and you broke it down in such a way for all to grasp and hold on to. God does change us and in addition to that if we accept him, we will never have to go thru this life ever feeling alone.
He is always with us. Thank you again for sharing. Yvonne — What a beautiful post. Thank you for delving into this to explain what truth faith means and believing that God is who He says He is.

We need to de-MIST-ify them and let their true meaning sink right into the marrow of our bones. Faith is a spiritual force that overcomes great opposition and can carry a person through great trials and triumphs over circumstances in the natural realm. See Hebrews Chapter 11, the faith chapter.
Abraham is cited as the 'father' of faith and we as believers come under the Abrahamic covenant, a covenant which Yahweh established with him on the basis of his faith.
Abraham believed God , and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Romans 4: 3 "to him who.. Abraham heard the Word - Romans He turned repentance - ,19 He embraced the hope - He did not waver in his commitment - He rejoiced in it as an accomplished fact - Faith is the substance through which we receive from God, our salvation is from God. Ephesians 2: for by grace are ye saved through Faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.
We must believe and respond to the Word which then will produce in us faith as a 'fruit of the Spirit' Galatians Faith as a fruit of the Spirit operating in our lives, draws us into close relationship and trust in Him.
Faith works by love, and our relationship and spiritual walk, gives us confidence to exercise the impartation of the faith which we receive. The operation of faith is dependent upon our relationship with God. John abide in me,and I in you. Jesus said, "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you" John 7.
There are four foundations for Biblical faith 1. The Integrity of The Word "Every good and perfect gift, comes down from the Father of light, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. The Ability of God to Endorse The Promise Abraham "did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith.. The Confidence of the Believer in The Promises This confidence is based on the conviction that when the promises are laid hold of by faith, then the results of that faith are guaranteed.
The 'hearing' here is not just with the natural ear, but the spirit of man which has to be opened to 'hear'. This is where the Spirit of God comes into operation to open our spiritual ears to hear, so that faith can operate, as faith is a faculty of our human spirit.
Faith must rest on facts, realities from the Word of God, otherwise what you believe can be presumption, if it originates from self. When a 'word' is quickened to one's spirit by the holy Spirit, then it will agree with the written Word in principle. Initial saving faith, as well as the exercise of ongoing faith, is an impartation of the Spirit, a 'gift' of the Holy Spirit.
Reading the written Word and keeping filled with the Spirit will facilitate our faith to be activated and enable us to move and live in the faith realm.
With salvation particularly, an informed mind does not guarantee saving faith, "For unto us was the gospel preached as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. With salvation there is joy, gratitude for deliverance and sins forgiven.
With all impartation of faith, the spirit soars to new heights, there is exhilaration, new expectations, joy and gladness "Whom having not seen, you love: in whom though now you see Him not, yet believing, you rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory. Matthew 5 - Sadly, one of the great misconceptions in the Christian life is that we can create faith on our own. We struggle to stoke up faith by doing Christian works , by praying more, by reading the Bible more; in other words, by doing, doing, doing.
Martin Luther , one of the early Christian reformers, insisted faith comes from God working in us and through no other source:. Luther and other theologians put great stock in the act of hearing the gospel being preached:. The spoken Word of God has supernatural power to build faith in listeners.
Corporate worship is vital to fostering faith as the Word of God is preached. When a distraught father came to Jesus asking for his demon-possessed son to be healed, the man uttered this heartbreaking plea:. The man knew his faith was weak, but he had sense enough to turn to the right place for help: Jesus. Faith is the fuel of the Christian life:. It is often difficult to see through the fog of this world and beyond the challenges of this life.
We cannot always feel God's presence or understand His guidance. It takes faith to find God and faith to keep our eyes on Him so that we persevere until the end Hebrews Actively scan device characteristics for identification.
