We were just very different to the others, different outlooks, etc and I was working full time so felt left out of their regular meetings. The initial support and friendship during the pregnancies and early babyhood was brilliant though, and I don't regret it for that.

Many women who have a strong support network of family and friends already don't feel the need to join the nct. We didn't have any family locally or many friends with kids so the nct group was really helpful at the start. As our kids grew older, we just made other natural friendships elsewhere. I see it philosophically - if you meet with 10 strangers, odds are you aren't going to hit it off with everyone! But you are likely to come away with at least 1 or 2 good relationships.
